Does the reverse exist that you are aware of?

I was wondering if something exists for somebody who wants to intentionally slow their metabolism, so you require less food and put on mass more easily. I guess in other words how to make the metabolism nice and efficient.

The only way I know of so far is to trigger the starvation metabolism somehow, but that isn't always practical.

So far all current knowledge is saying to increase mass you need to eat a surplus of kcals for tissue growth. Even trainers that follow Paleo nutrition protocol are still advocating this, ie. Dan John, Charles Poliquin, etc..... That's not "calories in , calories out". It's just common wisdom.

I think as Paleo increases through out the athletic world someone may do a study on metabolic efficiency.

There's room for you to experiment on this. ;)

I was wondering if you knew of anything that would allow you to tweak your metabolism in that direction, or in my case more in that direction, but if you don't, that's fine.

Somewhere in another thread, we were talking about how "metabolism slows down with age". The amazing response there was: "I don't think it's metabolism slowing, I think it's insulin resistance increasing".

Maybe it's related. Try eating more fruit and see!
