I know. Then I can't ride.  :-\

 I figure I've put in about 10,016 days/40,064 hrs. of (very) hard style martial arts training/competing in my life. I know more than I care about broken bones, especially in the feet.

Mtn.Bike ride - 7mi. 1,200vert.ft. - Shoved my foot in a downhill style bike shoe and took the dogs for a ride.  :)

*Right off the bat I can't jump and I can't spread my feet to catch.

Power Snatch - 95 x 5, 135 x 5, 145 x 1, 150 x 1 (to catch 150 I spread feet  :o), 145 x 2,1,1 (spread my feet  :o)

I guess this is more of a clean & jerk? I was catching low and 1/4 squat jerk (instead of push) for the press? Muscle jerk? Gnujoshua?
C & J - 145 x 1, 150 x 1
10 min PR Zone - minimal rest
C & J - 150 x 3,2,2,2,2,2,2 = 15 reps

10min PR Zone - minimal rest
Olympic Snatch - 135 x 2,2,2,2,2,1,1,1 = 13 reps

walk/limp - 1mi.

Dog Ride - 4mi. 400 vert.ft. - Shoved my foot into my regular bike shoes. It was great while riding. Soon as I stopped  :o!. Happy pups  ;D

Mountain Bike ride - 16.2 mi. - 1200vert.ft. - Swelling in the foot is quickly going down.  ;D Foot is healing nicely. Pain is quickly diminishing, ROM returning and weight bearing is at 100%.
 Still had to squeeze my foot into my bike shoe, it was worth it.  ;D

Drove to the gym this a.m. so I could take the pups mtn.biking right after (before work).

Warm up - Front squat 135 x 10reps/chinup BW x 10reps
Front Squat - 155 x 5, 165 x 5, 175 x 3, 185 x 3
15min PR Zone - rest 60sec after each circuit
A. Front Squat - 165 x 5,3,3,3,3,3 = 20 reps
B. Low Sternum Chinups - BW x 5,3,3,3,3,3 = 20 reps
C. DB OH Press - 50's x 5,5,3,3,3,3 = 22 reps

Dog Ride - 3.2mi. 400vert.ft.Little easier to squeeze my foot in my shoe this a.m.  :)

My GF, the WD and I went out to explore a trail we had only heard about. FUN! Guesstimation on the distance is 12mi.

8/17/10 -
Dog ride - 5mi. 400 vert.ft. -
This ride is a perfect interval workout for me. All the climbs are perfect for sprinting and there is plenty of down and flat for good recovery between sprints.

Weights -
Warm up -
RDL>HS>OHS - Bar x 6, 65 x 2 x 6

1. Power Snatch - 95 x 1, 135 x 1, 145 x 1, 150 x 1, 155 x 1
20 min. PR Zone - casual pace
140 x 2,2,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 = 17 reps

10 min. PR Zone - casual
2A. SNDL - 300 x 1,1,1,1,1 = 5 reps
2B. Weighted Dips - 90 x 2,2,1,1,1 = 7 reps


Dog Ride II - 9 mi. 3,000 vert.ft.- A buddy called me up to see if wanted to hook up for a dog ride. Too hot for my dog but his herding dogs can run in any heat it seems.  Part of one of the trails he wanted to hit has a section with fun, natural freeriding terrain. While I was in the air off a jump, one of his dogs ran right under me.  The rest of the ride was a sufferfest.  ;D

The foot's coming along nicely, thanks . Swelling is down enough that shoving it into a bike shoe isn't an experience in character development any longer.

The rides can be pretty tough at times. Suffering is good for the soul, right?  ;D ;)

Dog ride - 15.6 mi. 3,000 + vert.ft. - Great ride with a buddy, his dogs, my GF and the WD. FUUUUUN! ;D

That sucks Wlfdg!

I don't know if this story will cheer you up or if it's one of those times that it's only funny in person but as young chap my buddies & I based this holiday around this small town having a gym.

Anyway the only gym in town had closed & after a less & less harmonious week....  we wander down the beach & we happen to find a secluded cove with a heap of big rocks lying around.....

Someone picks one up & we get all excited & get stuck into it in our own little world.... after who knows how long we notice a long line of random sightseers (like a bus load minus the bus) have since come along at the top of the cliff with cameras an shit all pointing & grinning at us. :o That has been my one & only nature/rock workout ;D

I do swim. I haven't yet this summer. Places to swim take some work to get to.

Many gym lease their equipment. I have no place to put a power rack or a barbell and plates for that matter.

I think our plan of attack is to get sandbags? We'll be able to train in our living room when the snow has piled up outside.
