Friday

Deadlift
1 x 2 \ 60kg
1 x 1 \ 80kg
1 x 1 \ 100kg
5 x 5 \ 120kg

Not done this volume of deadlifting in a while, hard work

Standing Barbell Press
5 x 5 \ 40kg

I was planning to do clean and press but after deadlifts i was wrecked

Pullups
5, 5, 4, 3, 3

I was wanting to give up around set 3, but pushed through (partly because i knew i'd have to post it here)

Good session.  Was really feeling it for the rest of the day

Monday

Deadlift
1 x 2 \ 60kg
1 x 1 \ 80kg
1 x 1 \ 100kg
5 x 5 \ 121.25kg

Grip seems to be the weak link here, still!  had to re-grip a few times but got through

Standing Barbell Press
5 x 5 \ 41.25kg

Could really feel inbalance in the barr

Pullups
5, 5, 5, 4, 3

2 more reps over friday :D

The extra carbs seem to be helping out, felt i had a lot more energy

Tuesday

Swim

960m total in 24 minutes.

Managed to do this as 2 lots of 14 laps of the pool, really enjoying the relaxing, meditative effect of swimming. well except the burning shoulders

Went to check out a lake that opens for swimming next month :)

What type of grip are you using?

Good work on the pullups!  ;D

I'm using an over-under grip, have thought about (and briefly tried) a hook grip but my fingers and thumbs don't seem long enough :S

Good work on the pullups!  ;D

Get 2 or 3 small balloons, fill one with enough sand that it just fits in your hand. Tie it off, put it in the other balloons, tie each off and carry it around with you. Cheap grip training. Finger tip pullups are a great grip builder as well.

Thanks for the tip, i have some Captains of Crush grips but haven't used them for a while.  Am hoping that with the slow increases in weight my grip will bring itself up to the level needed.

Friday
Swimming

1450 m done in 40 minutes, with 2 sets of continuous swimming for 525 m.  Pretty pleased in got through this with only 2 short breaks.

Shoulders are holding up a lot better now, and usually after i've had the first break they have loosen up.

Monday

Deadlift
1 x 2 \ 60kg
1 x 1 \ 80kg
1 x 1 \ 100kg
5 x 5 \ 122.5kg

I gripped the bar more in the palm of my hand today, felt stronger.  Although it may have been i was using a bar that had decent knurling on it

Standing Barbell Press
5 x 5 \ 42.5kg

Pullups
5, 5, 5, 5, 4

Another 2 reps added, hoping to get to 5x5 soon, although not sure where to go from there.

My body is looking different now although i'm quite a lot lighter i think i actually look bigger, i guess it's to do with muscle definition and shoulder to waist ratio.

Start changing grips to progress to one arm and/or add a weight vest.

I say add weight. Vest is awesome. A belt will do as well.
