testosterone boosters
« on: April 27, 2008, 04:09:26 PM »
hey everyone.

thought id post a short message about my experiences with two herbs - id encourage you to do your own research so i'll just make a summary of each herb * all this is my own opinon.

firstly tongkat ali:

its an expensive herb but in my experience it works. I'm 19 however and wouldnt recommend it for anybody underage 30 at least. the reason is it made me angry - very very irritable and short-fused. i think if i'd have carried on with it i'd have had adrenal fatigue with all the stress.

but for older gentlemen i'd highly recommend them try it rather than use steroids or something. with all the so called xeno-estrogens - unless ur careful by age 40 they maybe having a real effect on testosterone - tongkat ali could be well be the answer if you want to train hard and still enjoy a great sex life without suffering a burn-out!

secondly tribulus terrestris

this herb i'd recommend for any adult male of female - in my opinion it has a nice synergistic effect - i dont believe it raises tesotosterone like tongkat ali does (which actually tells leydig cells to create more) but i certainly notice a difference in my voice in the morning and my energy levels - so i think its more of an adaptogen and helps 'free testosterone' levels up.

i'll post some more info on this stuff if anyone is interested in it.

problem with boosting testosterone with anything including herbs is that you will also increase your estrogen, this in effect will lower you T in the long run. I highly recommend D.I.M, Diindolylmethane.  is a phytochemical found in vegetables and helps your body cleanse its self naturally of excess estrogen. Which in turn will keep your testosterone up in the long run. Eat broccoli cabbage sauerkraut and other cruciferous vegetables as they are an excellent source of Diindolylmethane. Zinc also is great for naturaly healthy T levels, good sources include red meat and oysters.

whole heatedly endorse your comments about the 'indole' compounds in curciferous vegetables - just adding to that i'd recommend flax seed - a uniquely high source of a soluble plant fibre lignans - which take excess estrogen out of the blood stream aswell.

i would ask you to expound on the notion that when increasing testosterone levels with herbs - that it also increases estrogen, i can see a 'homeostasis' logic there....but i've never read any evidence to suggest thats what happens.

good sleep, protein, and regular (but not continuous) sex will drive up your T. Getting rid of excess cortisol and dietary estrogen should also help.
Any idiot can get on a treadmill and watch TV and then take great pride in the fact they've exercised.
