Interesting result when wheat/gluten was dropped - poo related
« on: January 26, 2012, 08:52:31 PM »
A friends baby was doing poo like 5-6 times a day, and would get a horrible rash if not changed immediately (less than 5 min). Even if changed immediately the little girl would often still get a rash.

They decided to try dropping all gluten (still has dairy) and the change was immediate. No more rash, poo maybe twice a day, and normal solid stuff.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

I had a similar experience with my twins recently. I feed them raw milk, which they love and thrive on. But right around the holidays, the main dairy that produces it in California was quarantined for a E coli scare (turned out not to be from them) and the supply dried up. So we tried giving them pasteurized organic milk. What a mistake! They pooped constantly and would instantly get painful, red diaper rash. They were screaming in pain. It was horrible.

I committed to finding raw milk for them come hell or high water. There was one other producer up in Northern California, who was obviously overwhelmed, and rationing out milk to their dealers (of which there were few in So Cal). So I'd stalk the delivery van, call stores for delivery times, stand in line after line for hours at a time to get two quarts of raw milk (at $8.00 a quart!) and I kept doing that for weeks until the quarantine was lifted on my regular dairy. What a nightmare. But as soon as we went back to raw milk, all the problems went away.

Factory food is crap. The two remaining dairies in California that produce raw milk are under constant assault from the mainstream dairy industry and the government. Neither will be happy until raw milk is banned for good, like it is in many other States. And then even more people, including children, will suffer. It's amazing what the "experts" and "authorities" want us to believe is wholesome food. Disgusting.

Here in Ohio it's illegal to sell it but not to buy it. So my farmer has you buy a herdshare so that you are drinking the milk from "your" cow hence it's legal. You are basically paying room and board for the cow!

Herdshare programs in California are a political minefield and are under constant scrutiny and assault from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). At any moment the money you have invested in a program could become worthless when the CDFA swoops in with a cease and desist letter, which happens all the time. Unfortunately, in California, the herdshare concept just isn't a reliable alternative right now.
