I've tried this man's advice, it works pretty well.

How to Get Up Right Away When Your Alarm Goes Off
http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/04/how-to-get-up-right-away-when-your-alarm-goes-off/

I read this before, but thought the idea of "practicing" was a bunch of hooey. Did you / do you actually do that?

Yes, I tried it about a year ago and it worked. I don't do it now because I don't have to be up early for anything.

If nothing else it working, why not give it a try?

Yeah, I probably will. This is the 3rd time in maybe a year that I've come across this article. Coincidence is trying to tell me something.

Curious though, you don't have to be up early for anything, so what time do you wake up? Me, I don't have to be up early, but I *want* to be

It varies, usually between 7am and 9am. It depends on when I get to bed, which is between 10:30pm and 12:30am.

What, in the natural order of things, would provide lots of magnesium?

I read, I believe in an Eades book, that the source of magnesium in early diets was the drinking water.  Now that our water is cleaned, filtered, treated, etc we no longer have that source.  The recommendation was to take magnesium supplements, which I do.  Magnesium deficiencies are linked to a whole list of illness and disease.

It was the same book that recommended giving blood as we no longer have all those parasites to drain us down some.

That is exactly my current schedule.  :)

How much do you take? My research has led me to believe magnesium aids in muscle relaxation (and thus, helps with cramps and muscle spasms), which could be why it's useful at night.

I've been taking a 250mg pill each night, but it doesn't really help me too much besides making me feel more rested in the morning (which is enough).

just in case...magnesium can cause diarrhea...especially in supplement form.  It can be paired with calcium which is usually constipating...so I guess it evens out?
