NEW CAVEMAN
« on: August 26, 2010, 01:31:52 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Just found out about caveman deit and thought i would give it a try as recently im so tired and need a boost. Im big on eating carbs and sugar so this is gonna be hard. i started on monday and i still havent gone a day without a couple of choc bars, or having my cerial. i just dont know what else to subtitute with them with, but ive found a few things to start off. Another reason to try this is to try and control 'IBS' and get my 'body fat' down abit, not that its high in the first place.

Anyway, any advice welcome and thanks for all the future help

More than a few have come to paleo looking for help with IBS, I'm sure some will chime in here with how it has helped them.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

I forgot to mention I have Crohn's.  I believe it has helped me on a daily-basis. Long-term is, well a long-term question to answer.   ;)

Welcome.

I'd recommend hard boiling a couple dozen eggs, preferably pastured or omega 3 eggs.  When you need a snack, have an egg instead of a chocolate bar.  For breakfast, have a few eggs instead of cereal - or if you have time, make bacon and eggs or an omelette.

You can also keep a lot of fruit around the house.  If you really need carbs, fruit is far better than a chocolate bar or cereal.
