I decided to eat fully paleo for the next month. I highly doubt when that month is over I will go back, but the way my mind works, I needed to make a particular goal to jump in.
I lied a little.... I reserve the right to drink my daily 1-2 cups of coffee. My body may tell me to ditch it. I had my usual cup at work last night and my stomach got upset! ... so I dumped the rest.
Thanks all for the responses... The biggest thing for me, believe it or not, is I need to get used to everyone thinking I'm weird doing this. I do feel strange cooking meat all the time. Last night I was rummaging around for snacks, not wanting to cook something, as it was late and I just got home from work, and it was nice to see that I had a bag of pork rinds in the cupboard. Saved me from eating the corn chips, haha. Another thing with my health is my joints, I have a lot of joint pain. I am hoping to see results by cutting out nightshades, although from what I've read, it can take a very long time in some people to feel relief. I am looking forward to pain free though. My husband recently told me to be careful... "that Atkins guy died of a heart attack or something." I need to package the research I've done into a little easy to understand, conversational package for people when they say something. Mostly, I just say I'm watching what I eat and feel better when I don't eat certain things.
On April 8, 2003, at age 72, a day after a major snowstorm in New York, Atkins slipped on ice while walking to work, hitting his head and causing bleeding around his brain. He lost consciousness and went into a coma on the way to the hospital. He spent nine days in intensive care, before dying of his injuries on April 17, 2003.[6][7]

Oh yeah and the coffee thing, not sure if it's strict paleo, but I drink mine with stevia. The only ingredients in the sweetener is a concentrated and powdered form of the stevia plant and inulin soluble fiber, whatever that is. I guess I'm gonna go look that up now, since I'm thinking of it. The package says 0 Carbs, 0 Calories, and 0 Glycemic index.

Ketosis is a very natural state for the body to be in, possibly more natural than not being in ketosis.

Oh wow, thanks. I always thought he died of a heart attack too. It never seemed important enough to look into
