BTW-- mTOR is clearly most strongly influenced by protein (amino acid) pathways—and particularly the branched-chain amino’s: leucine (especially), isoleucine and valine.  This is well established in the literature.

I hope this helps clarify my position and the nature of my book somewhat to those of you that may be interested.

Does that mTOR pathway apply only to people past reproductive age or does it apply to anyone who is currently not reproducing?
Change requires you to scream, I'M NOT GONNA TAKE ANY MORE!...and then you don't.

Is anyone here following Nora's recommendation of low carb, moderate (45-50 gr) protein?
If so, I'd like to see your food logs just to see what you are eating on a daily basis.

Thanks,
TWS

I currently have probably about 75g of protein per day.  I was around 50g for my first year or so of paleo, but I was not doing very low carb.

Today was typical of my current diet:

Brunch:  2 slices uncured bacon, 2 eggs
Dinner:  4 oz. grass fed ground beef burger, mushrooms sauteed in bacon grease and grass fed beef tallow, 1-2 oz baby spinach, maybe 1 oz carrot
Snacks throughout the day:  1 hard boiled egg, 1 small riblet, approx 3 oz almonds, maybe 2 oz wild blueberries

Okay, maybe I'd have slightly more food, like an extra boiled egg or two, on a regular day.

Early on I had only 1 slice of bacon and 1 egg for breakfast, and would have a lot more fruit - like a couple pounds over the day.  I've gradually shifted to less carbs and more protein; even if the protein does shorten lifespan, all evidence is that the carbs I've dropped would be even worse in that regard.
