I've even stopped buying dairy, Warren!
2"x2" piece of pepperoni pizza - it was going in the garbage otherwise

It took me months before I could throw out nonpaleo foods with impunity; I really had to get used to thinking of them as nonfoods. Now, though, I don't think of it as "going to waste" any more than I think of throwing out cardboard containers or dead insects as "going to waste".
See, the difference is, I don't like to throw away most things.

However, the trash generated from mail ordering things is far less than the fossil fuels consumed in going out to buy them personally, unless one lives in midtown Manhattan and can buy everything within walking distance. Once one gets used to shopping primarily on the web, throwing out cardboard becomes pretty necessary.
You ever think of recycling the cardboard?

Lots of kitschy shops and the like. Across the street from me is a corner convenience store that sells fresh produce. 1 block away is a butcher (they close early, I don't go there). And about 3 blocks away is a big old Eastern European / butcher / organic / hip grocery store that is awesome - grass fed meats, "Hungarian style mackerel", lox, borscht, etc. I have lots of options. You ever think of recycling the cardboard?
