Sunflower seeds aren't necessarily paleo, though.

Thanks, the packet's empty now so will replace them with something else, probably almonds

If you're buying nuts, try soaking them. It's also a good way to keep yourself from gorging on them

Probably going to stop posting daily foods, think i have things sorted food wise.

1 change i am making is including IF in my WOE.  Yesterday i planned to have an eating window of 5pm - 10pm wasn't too difficult, but eating later in the day gave me some sleep issues so today i've shifted it to 3pm - 8pm.  This also fits in well with when i do my strength training, which is usually around 2pm

I am still having the odd piece of fruit during the day but the bulk of my calories will be in that 5 hour window.

ok scrap that idea, without breakfast today and with lots to do i had the worst headache.  this is the first one i've had since switching to Paleo so i think it's time to bring breakfast back.  That said the bulk of my calories will still come in the evening

You can include sleep time in your fasting window, so there's no real harm in fasting from, say, noon until you wake up. Might be worth a try. I, for one, found only the first 3 days to be difficult and am now regularly eating one meal a day.

As an aside, posting daily foods does a little more than let you figure things out - for me it makes me accountable. "Oh can't eat that for dinner, or else Warren Dew is going to call me out because of the dairy!"

Right now i'm happy with eating about 3 times a day, but if i find i don't need to eat then i won't.

I think once i'm back home regularly i may go back to logging foods for that exact reason, but right now it's something i don't have time for

I've already frozen my nuts, will soaking now do any good?

'drink the fat'
« Reply #36 on: February 28, 2010, 10:14:34 AM »
this w.o.e is great, i just worked my way through an entire plate of lamb chops :)

something a little different i tried was using the fat that came from cooking the chops as a 'dipping sauce'.   Also drank some of it, that was different not to sure if i liked it or not but as long as its bearable it's something i'm going to try when i'm eating at home to help up calories.

Also trying to include a bit more fruit to help with carb intake.  typically this has been very low, probably less than 50g a day.   A lot of the things i've read recently suggest this maybe the reason i've been struggling in the gym and been feeling very tired in my legs.  Today's fruit intake pushed carbs up to about 100g so still low enough but hopefully this will improve things in the gym and pool, i guess i'll find out tomorrow.

Had a small cheat today of 20g 90% chocolate, damn it was good

Weight was down a small amount this week (0.2kg) with another 1/4 inch lost of my waist :)

The fruit is really helping with energy levels.

I've had a few bad cheat days over the last 2 days, yesterday was an important work lunch which was all non-paleo didn't have much choice - £2M of work was being discussed.

Today is my birthday and i had a pizza tonight, got to admit though i now feel rubbish after eating it, must remember this in future

Happy B-Day! Don't worry about it, you'll make a paleo feast during your next birthday.

Thanks.

Really wish i'd gone down the Paleo route i was considering (rib roast) as i left seriously bloated all night and have had no energy today.

Oh well back to cleaner living today, well as clean as i get when working away.

Today's cheats were mainly:

'seeded' chicken - chicken coated in a mixture of seeds and some kind of breadcrumbs :(
bbq that was on the ribs i ordered, was only a tiny amount.

I'm really looking forwards to eventually getting to living back at home at some point rather than in hotels so i get have a sustained period of clean paleo eating, still i'm eating about maybe 80% paleo at the moment so i'm not overly worried as i'm getting the main benefit i've had from this w.o.e which is a lot less headaches :D I now only get them when i've had too much non-paleo food

Had a good week this week, got through a birthday meal with my folks sticking to Paleo foods :D

Also down another  1 kg, bringing the total to 9.8 kg  (or 21.5 lbs :)) and 2 3/4 inches off my waist.

This weekend was the first time my parents had seen my since switching to Paleo, they noticed the weight loss :)

Been craving junk food all day, I have a ton of crisp (potato chips) in after my parents visited with some 'treats'.  The plan is i'll give the crisps to the folks at work.

Anyway i just had a major fruit binge the fill me up to avoid the crisps.  I've been pretty hungry all day even though i've eaten a ton of food, something like 4000 calories
