My 11 y/o Labrador died today, so I had some non-paleo candy for comfort.

Just the thought of my dog dying makes me want to chug a bottle of vodka. Just remember, if you treat them well (and I am sure you did) dogs easily cram more happiness into 30 minutes than you or I could manage in a decade. Imagine if you got to live 11 years of the happiest day of your life...
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

Thanks. He was my oldest and he was a yellow lab. I still have a chocolate lab and a black lab. They will also be 11 years old in a few months. I don't recommend having more than one lab and especially the same age.

This Friday at 6:30pm, I am running my first 5K race on Paleo. I have ran 32-34 races on SAD. My plan is to eat yams and scrambled eggs about 3:30pm. I ran on Monday for 3 miles around 23 minutes and I ran easy in the first half. I think I can run 5K/3.1 miles near 22:30. We'll see.
