Wed 1st September - yay spring and mangoes and lychees and....

morning - omelette with parsley, chives, chopped onion greens, thyme, marjoram and coarse black pepper, weak early grey with lemon

lunchtime - cold lime and coriander chicken with a big salad (pretty much like yesterdays but with leftover cooked veg chucked in and mustard dressing) and a cup of mocha kenya coffee

evening - totally awesome thick and rare steak with some cajun spices (cooked in beef fat) with leftover salad from lunch

lots of plain water today and didn't eat strawberries - that should count as an ISF (intermittent strawberry fast)

Sunday 5 Sept

Got to get more fruit and veg back into my life - although I usually have my salad I haven't been having much at dinner.

morning - black coffee

early afternoon - chicken and various greens: bok choy, pak choy (shanghai bok choi), mizuna, red & green mustard stirfried in a tad of beef fat and about a third of a small mango

dinner - stirfry beef and the same greens as for lunch but with coconut oil, grated creamed coconut, basil, coriander and lime. Raspberries to finish (love my 'pudding').

I have a huge coriander crop so I'm going to have to use it in lots of stuff.

Planted more bok choy today (as my seeding plants aren't ready yet and I want some now) - also discovered that tatsoi is also known as rosette bok choy. Some places call bok choy and pak choy (white stem and green stem) by the same name but call the green stemmed one shanghai variety. Sometimes the names bok choy and pak choy are used and sometimes they are reversed.

I'm thinking of growing mizuna - it's quite pretty and I eat a lot in mesclun.

I've been enjoying swiss chard a lot lately.  I tried mustard greens and was dissapointed.  Same with kale.  I can't get enough summer squash in me.

Avelin, I'm really impressed, you have been tearing up the kitchen...

I wish I still had access to my dad's incredible kitchen, haha, but then again I'm back at college for one last semester.

P.S. I love my black coffee for breakfast as well.

Thursday 9 August

morning - black coffee

during the day - black chai, earl grey

afternoon - small apple

dinner - double my usual portion of steak cooked in paprika, chili and butter! Eaten with cauli, carrot and parsnip that I tipped into the pan too. I really wanted to soak up the fats.

lolol  ;)

Dairy has to be really strictly rationed if I'm going to eat it. It's deceptive and way too easy to eat too much. Somehow it confuses the stomach.

Sat 11 Sept

No work and eating day. During the last 5 days it was workload rather than anything else that prevented eating. Was really hungry. Food was pretty plain but really desired ghee and really didn't want red meat.

Started the day by cooking a chicken breast, chicken fat, onion, carrot, celery and parsnip in stock from yesterday and letting it render down so it was reasonably strong. Didn't add any herbs lol. Chicken removed and plated to eat slices cold. Veg tubbed to add to other meals. Stock tubbed to use in cooking.

morning - 3 tiny eggs scrambled with ghee, some strawberries & black coffee

lunch - usual salad, oil and mustard dressing and fish (perch) in ghee

afternoon - slices of cold chicken breast

evening - chicken liver, some of the stock veg & a bit of bok choy, cooked in some of the stock and chicken fat, then strawberries

green tea and water all day
