Thursday 12 August

midmorning - 2 hard boiled eggs

mid afternoon - avocado, chicken and pineapple (gosh the pineapple was sweet)

evening - a couple of chicken pesto muffins: chicken mince, a couple of eggs, onion, any other bits of veg, instead of herbs this time I threw in some pesto, then into a muffin pan - 500g (1lb) mince =12 muffins.

Do you think you could post this to the recipes section? It sounds awesome!

Posted method and suggested list of ingredients Phrak - I used homemade pesto (no cheese) and forgot to add that I also put in some tomato paste (just tomato no additives)

Weather is like spring atm... garden is going really well.

morning - turkey meat and 2 soft (fried) eggs - I really like the taste of turkey legs

late lunch - salad of chicken fried up with fatty bacon, mixed with half a chopped apple and some of my mayo (with a dash of balsamic), on a bed of baby mesclun, baby spinach and baby rocket. If my rocket wasn't so nutty I'd have added some walnuts. As it was, I kept thinking I was eating bits of nut. Would be good with addition of celery (a waldorf with chicken and bacon).

I got the idea from MDA - he has a very similar salad there using bacon, avocado & chicken thighs but with a vinaigrette http://www.marksdailyapple.com/bacon-chicken-and-avocado-salad/

dinner - fish fried in butter (yes I know) but it was really really good

drank lots of green tea with jasmine today, as well as water

Sunday 16 August

morning - couple of boiled eggs mashed up with a bit of bacon

lunch - the other half of the chicken, bacon, apple and lettuces salad, which was better the second day as the rocket had gotten really nutty

evening - stuffed capsicum which is just a savoury mince in a half capsicum shell, baked, with some broccoli on the side

will be having strawberries later

Thursday 19 August

I'm getting right into my saved fat tubs these days - I'm doing the same kinda thing I do with oils (and used to do with butters) which is bottle them with garlic, herb mixes, etc. So I now have beef & bacon fat, duck fat with herbs, and a variety of 'drippings' with assorted flavours that I use often. Makes life easy peasy. Also making stuff like the pesto and tappenades and putting in ice-cube containers in the freezer.

morning - just coffee

lunch - usual big salad - this time cos (romaine), mesclun, tomato, cucumber, celery, red capsicum, spring onion stems (scallions?) with thinly sliced rare steak (the marbled kind) that had been seared in a bacon & dripping mix

afternoon - a few macadamias and treated myself to another coffee

evening - beef and broccoli cooked with spring onion, thai basil, coriander (cilantro), mint, chilli and a tad of coconut milk

later - going to have some strawberries (local berries) which are sweet but not nearly as sweet as the frozen blueberries I've had the last few days.

Saturday 21 August - federal election here

morning - coffee

lunchtime - a meat muffin. This time I used beef mince, leftover veg and fat from yesterday's turkey, eggs, pepper and grated zucchini and carrot, thyme and a little pinch of cinnamon (I reckon a teeny tad gives warmth to a meat dish). Froze some for work lunches/breakfasts

evening - lamb chops 'marinaded' by covering each side with lemon thyme and oregano for a couple of hours before barbequing, served with a big salad with walnut oil

yeppers - going to eat some strawberries later (honestly they are the best buy around right now)

drank really weak early grey all day, plus water

Sunday 22 August

morning - meat muffin, boiled egg and coffee

midmorning - most of a small grapefruit which I found quite sweet (still got a big box of them left)

lunchtime - big salad with cut up baked turkey, dressing made from avocado, lime and coconut oil - highly yummy

afternoon treat - mocha kenya coffee with cream in

dinner - steak with fried cauli and brussels sprouts (used my combo dripping and bacon fat), and some baked eggplant and tomato - topped with about 20g (that's less than an ounce) of cheese!!! I haven't eaten cheese for months and really felt like some

still got about a kilo (2lb) of strawberries to get through - I'm eating less fruit than I used to. oh well i can always puree and freeze

weak earl grey tea and water today

I think I wanted the cheese because I've been checking out other fora where they eat more dairy - put the idea into my head
