and my bottom was going out much further than hers. I certainly wasn't getting anywhere near level with my knees.

I wish I could show you guys. :(

Sounds like a balance issue, which is common if you've never done stuff like this. You probably fear falling over and overcompensate by sticking your rear out farther. That's fine, your balance will improve as will your leg muscles and eventually you'll be able to get into form

It's not supposed to be comfortable. You are supposed to be gasping for air and sweating profusely!

Don't worry about getting that low. Just do what you can do as best you can. Your best will continue to get better in no time at all.

The first time I did tabata sprints I nearly threw up. Plus I was sweating and panting for a long time afterward. But your capacity for exercise increases noticeably with every single session that you challenge yourself. It did in my case anyway.

The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.
