Can anyone suggest. I have been eating mainly meat alone and my favourite is lamb chops, pork chops and steak.

this is rather expensive.

I wonder if anyone else is managing on a tight budget.

Actually in this world economy, I bet we are all trying to manage on a tight budget.  I buy whole slabs of meat and butcher it myself vs buying steaks and chops pre cut.  I save abunch that way and get a bunch of meat for the freezer.
No expectations, no disappointments!

I've shifted to more pork and less beef.  That's much cheaper here, especially as I find commercial pork acceptable given the rest of my diet.  Also I buy pork loins when they are on sale at $2/lb and freeze them; that's probably comparable to bread in price.

Good beef steak unfortunately tends to be the most expensive meat around.

I do eat quite a bit of liver. that is cheap .
Perhaps I should investigate a whole lamb. I happen to know a butcher. I should chat him up.
Maybe half a pig

My experience from last year financial troubles...cheaper cuts but NOT cheaper animals. That means maybe less meat (in quantity) but still high or medium quality, I found it was better to have just one portion grassfed meat in a few days than one portion everyday coming from low quality animals (i.e. discount stores, grain fed obese medicated animals).

And another advice, I have not been able to afford any beef for months, I ended up being anemic and needed iron supplements, actually more expensive than beef. Don't cut it out completely.

Have you got a freezer Renta? Then you could maybe get sides of lamb etc - maybe go in with someone else? Offal is cheaper here as it isn't fashionable these days, and fatty cuts of meat definitely cost less than lean. I second the crock pot/ slow cooker idea. Is it possible to grow some greens in pots or the garden?

Have you checked out any food co-ops or buying groups? Also markets at the end of the day can be good for veg/fruit?

I'm coming out of a mega tight budget phase and at times like this I will buy commercial meat because any other is right out of my price range.

Buy in bulk and haggle shamelessly. I pay less for grassfed meat than I do for grain fed supermarket meat because of doing both the above.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

I get my beef fairly inexpensive, although when money is tight I'll bump up to 9-12 eggs a day... plus I'm cooking EVERYTHING in tallow for the calories. Also, padding meals with more veggies in the interim isn't such a bad thing... rutabagas chopped up and fried in mince turns out a nice "hash" that's pretty cheap, a large rutabaga and 4lbs of beef can last me a week... served with fried eggs on top, of course.

I put together a little "howto" paleo on the cheap... but it's much more geared for the newbie... you might find *some* inspiration in there. http://joshua-davis.blogspot.com/2010/07/for-my-latest-trick-eating-paleo-on.html

I had a small roast in the crock pot a couple weeks ago and at the last minute ended up having company…I cut the roast up, added some veggies, herbs and spices, coconut milk to make a big stew.  You can get a lot farther on soups and stews on a budget.

Pork belly is very cheap - I more or less live of the stuff. Milk fat is also good if you can find it.

cross a white potato with a mild winter squash and turnip. That's a rutabaga.
