Been quoted £1.99 per pound for a whole lamb from a very good country butcher.
I shall get that at the end of November.

Halal butcher does lamb half the price of the premium supermarket.

Must get a load of pork belly. I really like that and oxtail for stew.

I have been almost all meat. I guess I must start putting veggies in again.

Shepherds pie with a carrot turnip topping is good :)

Ethnic markets seem the way to go for people living in urban areas. (Unfortunately some of us are stuck in places where Italian is considered ethnic.) What a price on lamb! Have you tried goat? Heard that's cheap, and it's the world's most consumed meat by weight.

That is insanely expensive for over here, but from what I remember of UK prices that is a pretty good deal.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

No, I think it's a great price! Food's expensive where I live, and it's taxed. For example, broccoli and cucumbers run about $1.00 per serving.

Organic fruits and veggies generally cost more, but you needn't always buy organic to avoid pesticides.  http://static.foodnews.org/pdf/EWG-shoppers-guide.pdf

I bought a couple rutabagas and don't know what to do with them.  Any suggestions...What do they taste like???

Oooh - I never saw this before - I love swede (that's what we call rutabaga) - my mum used to boil it together with equal amounts of parsnip and carrot and mash it together with some butter and pepper when we were kids to get us to eat more veg.  Yummy with gravy or any kind of meat sauce and meat and green veggies on a cold winter's day - ahhh takes me right back.

Did you like it?
